![]() ![]() You always have complete control over them, but when it comes to skills you pretty much have to settle for what the computer wants to do with them. You can, however, shop at a merchant and give the other heroes equipment. Your other companions, for the most part, raise their skills as they see fit. It's worth noting that while you do travel with other "side heroes," you can only customize your main hero. (There are over 100 in the game, so there's quite a variety.) You can customize your main hero and turn him or her into a pure combat character, a pure mage, or a little bit of both. By the way the console remembers all entered cheats, even if you end the game. They advance in level and acquire new skills and spells which may be selected from a branching skill tree. Ctrl + (v1.05) Ctrl + + (v1.02) + (v1.0) Make sure you enter all cheats case-sensitive. Your heroes collect loot, which alters their appearance. The role-playing aspects are easily compared to Diablo. ![]() Even in single-player skirmish games the AI isn't all that hard to handle because it uses the simple "build up and rush" tactic over and over again. The AI could also use a bit of polish, too. However, it's not missing too much, either - the only feature that is lacking is the fact that you can't set a group into a formation or instruct archers to sit back while melee fighters engage the enemy. When it's time to build a base and construct an army, it's pretty much real-time strategy 101 there's very little that's new or particularly innovative. While neither the real-time strategy nor role-playing parts of SpellForce 2 would make for a particularly interesting game on their own, what's nifty is how they seamlessly fit together. You can zoom the camera to get a good look at the action. In short, you find yourself facing a lot of typical fantasy bad guys throughout the course of the long campaign. The dark elves and the undead have teamed up to beat the hell out of the humans - the orcs play a role too. You play a Shaikan, a human whose blood is mixed with that of a dragon, which gives you the ability to resurrect other fallen Shaikan as long as another Shaikan is close by, you're never in fear of truly dying (which makes for a nice little game mechanic because some of the fights are rather tough and you find yourself running out of hit points fairly often). The story is standard videogame fantasy stuff it's pretty cheesy and not all that compelling. In the spirit of action-RPGs such as Diablo and Dungeon Siege (and the original SpellForce: The Order of Dawn), SpellForce 2: Shadow Wars offers fantastic. If cheat is usable don't forgot thumbs up and share this with your freinds. The game is literally one part real-time strategy and one part action-paced role-playing rolled into one - and it works.
